So, I would briefly outline, in terms of rudeness, this:
- Buy it and want a refund because it doesn't work? Fine.
- Buy it and want a refund because it is bad? Sure.
- Buy it and want a refund because it wasn't the GAME IN YOUR MIND? This isn't as acceptable as the other two, but nobody is going to stop you.
- Buy it and get a refund and then leave a negative review anyway? To me, this is so fucking childish.
- Buy a $12 game, get a refund and then leave a negative review warning away others? Again, childish.
And then there is nuance in here. Some companies treat their customers terribly. Sometimes it's just a small group of people. And I am just focused on fake customers here, believe me, devs can be in the wrong. There was some post going around about an overwritten plea from some walking simulator creator giving a sob story so a person who finished the game wouldn't refund it (and then they dropped the price of their game in a Steam sale a month later.)
But back to customers:
- Buy a $12 game, get a refund, leave a negative review and then leave (and bump!) a forum post asking them to all get Playstations and a copy of some EA Sports game? Actually, that wraps around and becomes totally fine again.
