Just tried it. Still an Early Access title a long way from release. Not worth it by MM 03/12/2017, 6:16pm PDT Credit where credit's due: They implemented (slight) differences between ship types and added a reason for racial standing to matter. Baby steps on the core gameplay while creating completely new features sidegames. Maybe in 2032 they'll manage to pull a Galak-Z and redeem their good name. It doesn't help that Everspace Early Access just dropped a new build too and not only is that game FUCKING GORGEOUS compared to No Man's Sky, it feels like a more complete product. No Man's Sky still wins in the music category, tho.
