I have read Moneyball, the book, many times. I'm pretty familiar with what went on, all the controversies, all the people involved. It's an interesting story told well by Michael Lewis.
Not even getting into how accurate the movie is (seems pretty accurate) I just can't see what on earth is compelling about any scene to non-baseball fans. Brad Pitt is trying and made me not want to shut it off, Philip Seymour Hoffman is amazing as Art Howe, but man, I don't know who they expected to really enjoy this thing. I can't imagine not being obsessed with baseball and making it through.
