I didn't really know much about Marine LePen, a French representative to the EU parliament, as being the typical American who does not really follow European politics. But now I see why people are referring to her as "France's Donald Trump," and that she's got a good chance of winning election to the presidency of France.
Considering that Europe is having a lot of problems caused by inadequate oversight and vetting of immigrants and refugees, some of whom are abusing the host countries to commit crimes of violence, it sounds like she is willing to say the things Europe's liberal left don't want to admit.
Read the following - the video is subtitled because, obviously her speech is in French - and see how she is pointing out things nobody wants to talk about. It's only about 3 1/2 minutes.
A couple of things. (1) This problem with improper vetting of immigrants bit the US on the ass, too, when Castro allowed anyone to leave Cuba back in April 1980 during the Muriel Boatlift. Castro, being no fool, used the humanitarian crisis to empty his jails and prisons and dump his problems on the United States.
(2) The reports of how the immigrant problem has lead to what has been referred to as a "rape culture" in some of these Scandinavian countries as a result of immigrants presuming the more open displays of women's bodies as a signal that they are fair game to be sexually assaulted is clear that something is wrong. And too many stupid people seem to think that the answer is that we need to teach men not to rape. This, of course, is ridiculous. Men already know not to rape. Anyone who lives in any country of any reasonable level of civilization already knows this. These men are insensitive to or contemptuous of women and are aware that the weak protections available to people mean they can prey on women with impunity and very likely get away with it.
