| Don't subtract anything for massive frame drops if you don't have a PS4 pro who cares about that, what's good about this game is how many times you die and how much time you waste, right in the vein of the 3D Ninja Gaiden games.
Sometimes this game can be fun a lot of boss fights are stupid shit though. I honestly think I'm done with anything Souls style forever. It's always the same frustrating finicky bullshit over and over all dedicated to some purity test for self declared identity crisis gamers. Just maybe, MAYBE if you slog through this turd you'll get some respect maybe even accidentally develop it for yourself. Every boss fight is reminiscent of the worst fights from Dark Souls, bosses have no recovery after attacks and have multiple one shot kill moves. You'll spend nearly the entire fight circling and dodging around them waiting for something to open up. Sometimes they have weak points you can throw a Kunai at or something but mostly you'll just circle strafe and play it safe. Anything but the most tedious and boring play is immediately punished. Even when you finally are allowed to attack the game makes it annoying by including an active reload mechanic for your stamina. If you tap R1 after your combo (or dodge once you unlock the skill) you get a portion of your stamina back, if you forget to do this because it's a banal chore you'll find yourself missing a huge chunk of stamina which just opens you up to getting your ass kicked. I guess it was even shittier in the alpha/beta which really raises the question of why this game got any hype or attention, oh right losers desire Dark Souls style purity tests. So that's it, just a new purity test for you to fucking pat yourself on the back for slogging through. It'll sell and be widely hailed because it provides instant authenticity to anyone who has the patience to suffer through it. 10/10. |
