Let me tell you why I think this will be great before I say who Bob is. I, along with many others, did some beta testing for this game a while back. There is something about an Infocom Guy or Gal making a game that just makes the game come off so organized, intuitive and filled with classic "Now I get it" and "A-ha" and moments where you develop a solution after you've put the game down that you can't wait to implement. That's exactly what was going on with Thaumistry from what I saw. The writing is the part that, to me, is also very charming. I was never going to back anything on Kickstarter again, but Bob is the one adult in the room of children throwing swords and coolers at each other who I know will get his work done and deliver. Aside from being the nicest and most polite man in the whole of human history, Bob is credited on these games for Infocom, Legend Entertainment and others. the dark and gritty...Ice Cream Jonsey! |
