DiRT 4 will resonate with all players regardless of whether they consider themselves an arcade or sim racer. The beauty is that you can choose exactly what type of experience you want to have, and then play the game on your terms. If you want something fun that doesn’t require in-depth knowledge of automotive engineering and vehicle dynamics, then you can just dive into the game and have a great time.

In-depth knowledge of automotive engineering and vehicle dynamics! I will never get tired of the euphemisms games writers come up with for "knowing how to drive a car". And not even a real car, a fucking video game car that starts blinking when you go off the road and then reappears facing the right way back on the track. Some people view arcade games as brainless simulations, and some people view simulations as joyless arcade games, and both of those groups of people work for Codemasters on their shit DiRT games. Couldn't be any more of a chore if they were actually about laundry.

I haven't played DiRT Rally yet. Maybe that was the one where they finally got it less than completely wrong.
