Toxic Masculinity is a weird, one-sided conversation happening at Cis Males who are a real problem for the whole world. I think I would be more skeptical about the claims in the article if I hadn't also seen this lecture by Jill Soloway, creator of Transparent, who hired a mostly-trans staff for the show, then last year dumped her husband, got a dyke 'do, and is now dating a famous lesbian poet. Not making that up. She's very worried about the emerging cis male problem and how straight porn is about boys wanting to watch other boys cum (including lesbian porn I guess). It's actually a pretty moving speech in parts, only what she's describing looks and sounds like a new more aggressive front in feminism involving a tremendous amount of mindfuckery where equality is achieved by erasing the fiction of maleness, all is feminine oneness. It should be pointed out her girlfriend was gang-raped.

And it worries me seeing a crowd that huge being really into it, then this doc which links school shootings with the same Toxic Masculinity (cis male existence). It sure looks like mind policing. I feel really bad for younger guys who don't seem masculine to begin with being warned away from those natural impulses we suspect they're harboring. It's not toxic masculinity, it's the toxification of masculinity.

It's not like it's a purely conservative/right-wing issue I find anti-fascist thugs noxious and also all the cheeky internet commentators who love to suggest that pacifism is some ultimately racist construct. It's even more confusing since most of the protests are already non-violent anyway.
