I guess it's a decent stab at trying to create single player EVE Online.
I appreciate keeping it on a 2D plane, but it's incredibly annoying how fighters and debris constantly dip above and below your limited camera view.
HOLY FUCK are the warp mechanics annoying. Dropping out of warp if a feather comes within an AU of your ship. Having to wait for acceleration to go back into warp, wait for the warp animation. Here's what the game desperately needs. No hostile targets nearby? Instant warp.
All guides say trading is the best way to make money but they changed it with a recent patch? I don't see it as worth it. You keep your hold full and can't pick up anything until you travel around and find an ideal market to offload everything. I found it a lot easier to ignore trading and just pick up whatever loot I came across to sell at the first place to have not terrible prices.
What does everyone do with turrets? I was going with broadsides for capitals and using exclusive anti-fighter turrets. I had a flak and swarm but was going to ditch the flak for another swarm; you're not in range of flak enough for the higher damage to outdo swarms.
For broadsides I just stuck with the medium range ones. Short range you're hardly in range, long range the increased aim time kills your dps and at that long range you miss anyway. |
