I recently played through Doom 3 and its expansions on Nightmare. by Dream Cast 03/26/2016, 1:45pm PDT


This was my favourite enemy. He attacks by charging at you faster than you can back away, whipping with his instant kill Earthworm Jim arm as soon as you're in range. The surest way to survive an encounter with one of these guys is by playing (Alfred?) chicken - sprinting towards him at top speed, then crouch-sliding at the exact right moment so his tentacle flies harmlessly over your head. This will give you just enough time before he can get a kick out to bury your chainsaw into his groin. Any time a game can make you feel that much like Sonic the Hedgehog, you know it's doing something right.
