Explain I thought having you and Mark there as different ends of the opinion spectrum was pretty great what should have happened differently? Mark was terrible, leading discussions about how to fix the "problem" with the game, Rubin told him fifty three thousand times how the game wasn't for him, and he'd give it a "meh" review if he could. And this guy is doing this for free, to sit and listen to you people say how the game's not for you, and how can you fix the problems. It was painful, it was embarrassing, and it was disgraceful. But I'm sure you all thought it went great, so I shall DISTANCE myself from your merry band, because, oh my god, to have my name associated with that is enough to send me driving to the liquor store. "I wish I could give it a MEH review." - the actual host of the show, talking to the lead producer and guest. That was one for the record books. So essentially it's that Mark's dissent got more air time than it should have? Leaving for one moment the fact that Mark is also a humorless bore who nobody should ever have to listen to, yes. He made his terrible point, but like Rubin, kept bringing it up over and over to the point where you could tell the guy couldn't wait for it to end. I had people in steam chat messaging me like, is this for real? What is wrong with these people? And I'm frantically writing back, I have no idea, I apologize. It SUCKED. And you all owe him an apology. Yeah, not "meh" but more "it depends". I think the game is a tight system that was very well thought out and tested, and the difficulty is right on because it's something you have to work to master and once you do it's easy. I DON'T CARE. This is not how you do a show with a game's lead producer. The pain and disgust in his voice was palpable. "I... I think I see your point." No, what was it... "That's an interesting viewpoint." Translated: "get me the hell away from you psychos." And hey, maybe I'm (and the other people who hated it) wrong, and Matt had a great time, and everything's wonderful. That's great, and I hope that's the case. But even thinking about it now sickens me, so good luck and have a great life. Chat Conversation End |
