Whitney Cummings by Mysterio 01/06/2016, 8:12am PST She's funny enough to be a professional comedian, but I am surprised at how bad her instincts seem to be on-the-fly. On her talk show she had a sidekick who would try to inject jokes and she'd shut it down! typical example: Whitney: "... record snowfall in the town of Rock Butte, Montana" Him: "Hey, I used to know a guy from Montana who HAD a rock butt!" Whitney: "No you didn't." *...... pause.......* Whitney:"that's a lie" Him: "A priest, a rabbi, and a clown walk into a bar..." Whitney: "What? When did this happen? You never told me about this." Him: "Er... and the bartender says he has a trick parakeet..." Whitney: "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?!?!? Answer me. What was the rabbi's name? This makes no sense." Him: "Er................" It might sound like she's doing a metajoke ala Norm MacDonald but she wasn't. She literally seemed to have no idea whether the comic relief sidekick was telling a joke on her joke comedy talk show versus reporting news. And it wasn't just against him. When a guest would start to tell a silly story she'd stare them in the face and say "No. Talk about something else." Actively ruining anyone's attempt to tell jokes or be silly. Chilling the whole room, glaring at the audience for laughing. Such bad comedic instinct.
