Here's a good reviewby fabio 12/13/2015, 10:15am PST
He touches on another fatal flaw I forgot to mention: the attack range is the same as your vision. The instant 2 forces spot each other, they're hurling 1-2 hit kill shells and missiles at each other. One side is wiped in seconds. There's no time to react or maneuver. You just keep moving a force forward hoping you have enough to win when the enemy army pops out of the fog.
I couldn't find anything in the game that provided long range recon vision. There are units that call themselves recon, but they don't have any larger vision and also die the instant they spot an enemy force. 2 factions can try cloaked unit to recon, but stealth detectors are common and they'll still die if one is there. The U.S. gets no stealth and only a flimsy little bird chopper for recon that dies in 1 hit. There is no vision scan ability like Starcraft, Generals, or Red Alert.
The maps are way too big. Games take way too long. Killed units leave behind POWs who can be captured for a cash bonus of 50-200% the cost of the unit! You don't dare harass! You don't dare attack until you think you have an overwhelming force and you can't know until a battle starts because there's no decent form of recon. So you both just expand refineries with the convoluted resource model and spend 90% of the game watching refinery bars to make sure they don't fill up followed by watching resource storage bars to make sure they don't fill up as you try to remember which of the identical looking buildings had the upgrade you wanted.
