Not online, but actual unit lag. There's a three quarters of a second delay from giving commands and executing them.
Which is a big deal because micro is a big deal. Not because of intricate strategies to pull off, but because you're trying to avoid traffic jams on the road (roads allow faster movement, so pathfinding will jam everyone up into long lines). Or avoid the massive damage overkill since it seems like every unit has a high damage, long reload attack. It seems like every counter unit does 40-75% of a health bar in damage per shot with something like a 5 second reload. Waste shots on overkill because of the lag. Lose tons of units to one shot because you couldn't back off in time because of the lag. Slap yourself for thinking you could get away with air units because a single AA unit wipes you out and you couldn't abort in time because of the lag. |
