| I know it's from BBC, but that was posted April 1st, and seems like the kind of thing that would be on tv if it weren't a joke.
Very worrying is the cold going around here in Boston right now. It's fucking brutal. So my boss (well one of them) was out sick last month, went to the hospital thinking she had strep, and the doctor says she has an antibiotic resistant blood infection that you can only get in hospitals (?). She comes back once they paste her skin back on...and the senior programmer goes out with a hacking cough and fever for a week, but it turns out you stay contagious for two weeks, so now we all have it. I haven't had so much as a sniffle in three years or so, I was pretty surprised to get this, but it's Stephen King grade hong kong flu: Freezing while sweating torrents, shaking uncontrollably, feel like I've been punched in my adam's apple, dizzy, weak and tired all the time. The first day you just feel weird, and the second day it drops the fucking hammer. The worst part is that I blow my nose and my skull makes a popping, cracking sound, and when I sneeze, it feels like I slammed my funny bone...if my funny bone was like the sixth vertebrae in my back. The Sawx have guys missing games with this, people are taking whole weeks off sick, this cold is absolutely brutal, so if you see someone with a mild, persistent cough, go the other way. /jeep/ |
