I want to make that clear. I still hate-read Metafilter occasionally and JESUS CHRIST the number of losers that are dropping "Molly Lambert" and Rembert as great writers is pathetic in the article about Grantland's demise. Both are fucking terrible *when held against the standard of Caltrops.*
And I don't mean the writing of Caltrops, although frankly, the shit we've published here is far better than Grantland's. I mean that the average Caltrops reader read great articles written in the golden age of being funny on the Internet.
So yes, a few people are being aggressive about Grantland's mercy killing and saying BLEW HOO HOO WHERE WOULD I GO FOR GREAT WRITING NOW. You have to find that shit yourself, nobody is going to give it to you. No, it's not on a site with tens or hundreds of thousands of readers. I have contempt for people that can't seek out great writing for themselves. THAT'S THE FUCKING HOBBY. If you like great writing and it's a passion, THAT'S the work. If you are into yo-yos, you have to spend many hours walking the dog. If you are into great writing, you have to spend many hours finding it. Of fucking course people don't want to do that. If this place made a profit it would be here, but instead this place exists to drive off everyone who ever cared about it. Caltrops's last thread will be between me and Worm.
