It's calm. The writing is serious, not goofy, but not dead dull, either. The graphics are exactly as good as they need to be - characters do not move their heads or shoulders, only their legs, when they walk. This is fine. I'm not 100% certain what I am meant to be doing, but there's plenty of people to talk to. I was able to create three party members and recruit another one off the bat. You seem to only be able to raise your characteristics by two so I am not very worried about min/maxing. There's a lot I don't know.
But calm is the word I would use. This, so far, does not seem to be a game with a quest arrow and it doesn't seem to care if you miss stuff. The fog of darkness is a bit much, but it was the same way in Ultima 7 I think.
I am not sure if I love it. (Steam says I have been playing for 15 hours, but I left it up accidentally. I'm really at about one.) I do know that I want games like this to be made and exist.
