I'm just sittin there hand-to-chin, disgusted, bellowing out loud to no one in particular, "But what does it MEAN?!" Then I write off basketball and all sports forever because they're just petty spectator entertainment that stubbornly refuse to move beyond being mere games. A billion dollar industry, but the NBA can't be bothered to even TRY hiring a director or at least some kind of choreographer to bring more meaning into things. A slam dunk doesn't just have to be 2 points and an opportunity for arrogant grandstanding, it could be so much more, like a statement against oppression or a powerful metaphor about raw human emotion! |
