It made magic users completely worthless. I got mine to star level yet they still couldn't get out anything that would cause more than 5 points of damage without my guys running right into it. For all I know I was just relieving their back pain. And it's not like you could tell your guys to stay back and let the mage kill them either. It was like playing FF3 and watching the Sasquatch try to attack and pray he'd pick up one of your guys and throw them at the enemy.

The fourth is thankfully missing that feature. Hopefully they'll fix Suikoden 3's other annoying tendency where EVERY line of conversation, no matter if it's just "ok", is punctuated by three minutes of terribly slow animation where you watch the duck wiggle his tail or the thief wave his hands or the knight do nothing.
