Continuing on my recent sci-fi streak, I watched Transcendence recently. It's a movie about a guy who is trying to create an artifical intelligence, and a terrorist organization that is trying to stop him.
Let's see, what can I say without huge spoilers... well, the plot is interesting and not cliched... for the most part. The technobabble is kept to a minimum... again, for the most part. I felt like the acting was above average for a sci-fi movie, although that's not a high bar to clear.
The movie has a few problems. There are a few cases where characters' motiations seemed kind of off. I wasn't a big fan of the ending, either.
In general, I would give this a thumbs up, though. It's more worth seeing than not.
Actually I am going to make a follow-up post to this that has spoilers... I really can't give a very complete review without spoiling the hell out of this. |
