You encounter immortal ghost bugs in the cult building while rescuing some elf girl from being used to summon the queen, and the Baron pops up to thank you for saving the girl. He then tells you to raid a Telestrian office to retrieve a substance they were working on to kill the ghost bugs.

After the raid is botched, you're brought to the head honcho of Telestria and find out that:

-They were developing the substance specifically to stop people from summoning the ghost bugs.

-You couldn't have used the samples anyway because you had no delivery system, something that was thrown together by Telestria engineers.

-The girl you rescued was the Telestria head honcho's daughter.

-Baron Samedi is the girl's boyfriend.

Samdi knew the girl was the daughter of Telestria's owner and rather than have her tell her father that the ghost bugs are real and to use their new weapon on them, he withholds this information and has you shoot your way into a heavily guarded building to retrieve a sample you can't use. So you're put into danger, a dozen people die in shootouts, only for the head honcho to go "Oh, the bugs are here? We were planning on using this stuff against them anyway. Here, take them."
