It actually has a pretty neat trailer that promises a lovecraft-style horror game taking place in an alien sea. It had a prequel called "fallen london" that I tried out, but it turned out to be a freemium microtransaction-fest. What's worse, the horror gameplay promised actually turned out to be a lame comedy game:
Eurogamer, still infamous in my mind for giving clearly 7/10 quality Strike Suit Zero a 3/10 rating because reviews suck at games, gave Sunless Sea 10/10. The pro reviews don't get any less blowjobby from there. The one point of light is a gog review describing the game freemium grindfest gameplay without the microtransactions to alleviate the tedium, and permadeath which does not at all go with hundreds of hours of grinding gameplay.
