Len Pasquarelli is a football writer for ESPN.com. Every once in a while he tries to write for real and it would be best for everyone involved if he didn't.

One of his columns on the upcoming NFL Draft has this bit:

Apparently, Trent Dilfer's lone season with the Ravens defined the right place and right time. He was caretaker of a no-frills offense that basically just had to stay out of the way of one of the NFL's most dominating defensive units of all time. Some people feel that Trent Reznor, the front man for Nine Inch Nails, could have presided just as adroitly over the rudimentary offense.

Let me speak for football fans everywhere: No. No, we don't.

I despise Len Pasquarelli. He's at least as stupid as Peter King but far more abrasive and unfunny. I guess Elway was just the right guy in the right place too. Pretty much his only good stat is his winning percentage. Career yards passing I think is still second, but after that his stats charge downhill toward mediocrity. How'd he ever get in the HOF? Trent meanwhile won something like 18 consecutive games as a starter. Some of those with the Seahawks. Was he in the right place at the right time there, too?

Can you find Dilfer's and Elway's career passer ratings? It'd be interesting to compare the two. I bet they're simillar. But I gotta get back to work now. :(
