What sucked about the original was that the cameras were completely useless (except for quickly pulling up Pirate Cove for half a second), undermining the Fatal Frame aspect which should have been the entire game. It turned into a monotonous pat your head rub your belly exercise of flicking both lights, briefly closing each door, briefly clicking on pirate cove, repeat. There was literally no other way to beat the harder levels. You stuck to that tedious rote pattern or you lost.
Videos and reviews say this has been cranked up to 11. Instead of pirate cove, you're constantly winding up a music box which is even worse. Lights, music box, lights, music box, throw on mask, repeat.
