Which buries everything under that worthless pinned thread.

3 hours into Dark Descent. My god it's lame. It's actually worse than Outlast. I would have given up long ago if not for the insane universal praise it got and people saying it's an improved Penumbra, which I liked.

Lies. This is the most overrated horror game since System Shock 2. I'm officially calling it: Amnesia Dark Descent is this decade's System Shock 2. It took an original, but primitive game's idea and decided for the sequel that it would be improved by arbitrarily introducing dwindling resources. But at least SS2 had the audio logs. A:DD has the constant, pointless, BORING flashbacks that break immersion just so they can tell you what you've already read in a diary entry.

I'm honestly coming up blank trying to think of a worse recent horror game. Even rough shoestring indie games like Lone Survivor, Home, Long Night, or Cry of Fear were more enjoyable. I guess Gone Home was worse?

Update: I just ran into a multi-part quest for fixing a broken elevator. That's it. I'm done. I quit. Firing up Machine for Pigs since someone said it was less about broken gameplay and more about interesting set pieces happening.
