I feel bad for Lena Dunham because Tiny Furniture has a scene, not mentioned in the Wikipedia page, where she fucks a guy in a corrugated aluminum pipe in a construction yard at night. It's not sexy, it's an awkward entitled fat girl trying to be spontaneous and sexy and instead revealing just how desperate she is. But no matter how many times she takes off her clothes during the show, it still feels glamorized to me. The Girls do not seem capable of getting down and dirty, even with the ass-eating and cumshots on the chest and furious masturbation in a bathroom - those scenes are hard to jerk off to because they're too tasteful and protective of the characters.
I don't know if Lena Dunham is even someone worth talking or thinking about. She's a mainstream figure who represents the reality of life for young women in some incredibly vague sense, when she's not showing how big girls can be sexy too, and doing lame unfunny riffs on why you should vote for Obama. She's going through the terrible process where someone becomes a star, everybody celebrates them, then slowly try to figure out what exactly they're celebrating. |
