New York blows by fabio 10/29/2014, 5:00pm PDT
What got to me when I lived there was the fact that it's the only place in the country where you're constantly running into cash only restaurants. Has anyone ever run into a single one of these outside of NYC?

It's never what you'd suspect either. You probably picture some greasy under the table ethnic place run by first generation immigrants (the only cash only food places I've run into were shady Chinatown food marts in San Fran). No, they're all pretentious yuppie foodie spots where you get scowls if you didn't know your wines.

It was always some yuppie friend of a friend who insisted on going, then insisted on splitting the check even after ordering over $40 of microbrew to go with his $40 entree and $25 of sides.
