If men need to stop and consider the magnitude of sharing dick jokes when there are under 50% (or whatever percentage it becomes PROBLEMATIC at) women in their environment because, after several leaps of logical faith, it can be construed as a rape threat, why give a stamp of approval to Anita and her ilk for openly accusing men of being real life soul-stripping misogynists because they enjoy seeing attractive scantily clad women who don't even exist?
The dongle woman went on to brag about getting the men fired, getting off on the idea that she was Joan of Arc on a righteous crusade. Do you think it more likely that she was some delicate teacup in fear for her safety for being in the same room as a dick joke, or that she's the person who gets off on feeling righteously indignant and policing what others aren't allowed to talk about? Do you honestly think she wouldn't act exactly the same way if it was mostly women around?
Have the 3 women in your company ever voiced such concerns? It sounds like you're assuming they'll shatter in a strong breeze, what with them being womenfolk. I've worked several jobs where women are the overwhelming minority (warehouses, mail processing center, print shop, tech support) and they've always been the coolest with dirty jokes.
Serious question: would you have any empathy at all for a guy complaining he's uncomfortable overhearing a kegels conversation in a woman dominated workplace?
Honestly though, with all the time taken to type these replies, you could have watched a couple Anita videos and actually known what everyone is talking about. |
