| I originally bought a 64gb SD card to use in one of my new video cameras but it caused problems as the camera could not recognize it, probably because of the huge size. So the next time I went to the computer store I asked to take out one of the bulk pack 32gb cards - they're SD cards with a plastic clamshell SD card holder, no packaging - to be sure it would work. Well, I put it in and the camera recognized it. So I bought it and a second 32gb SD card.
So yesterday I went to use my camera to take snapshots and after about 3 or so I'd get an error message that the memory was full, and every time I took a snapshot. I notice the camera says it could put over 56,000 pictures or about 3:35:00 of video on the memory card (snapshots made by the camera use about 375-425K per picture.) My guess is because it's more than 32767 the software in the camera thinks its negative and (falsely) reports there is no room. I also can't take any videos at all, the camera tries for about a second then quits. So I found a 16gb card I have, I put it in to replace the 32gb, and now the camera estimates up to 29,000 photos or 1:30:00 of video. Snapshots and video work just fine, so I have to presume a 32gb card is too large for this camera. So I'll take the two 32gb cards back, buy 4 16s and pay the difference. |
