So Polygon has been humiliated with recent revelations that a few of their writers are hanging out in a Google Group trying to groupthink and collude their way to deadlines, and also that a few of their writers use Google Groups. Let's take a look at a few of the headlines from their opinion section and see how they've shaped up after such public humiliation.
Canceling Titan was the ultimate proof of Blizzard's strength, not a weakness
By Ben Kuchera on Sep 23, 2014
I dismissed Kuchera years ago because he is the biggest corporate bootlicker the world has ever seen. In any medium. I didn't read the article, but every one of his headlines is just soooooooooo "piss your belly to show you're submissive." I feel like some day it's going to come out that he's never written any one of his headlines and that he really has an anti-fascist streak a mile wide. Just kidding, every one of his headlines more or less reiterates a point in the article to where I feel kinda bad for the guy.
Strength is weakness! Mismanaging a property as badly as George Broussard mismanaged Duke Nukem Forever is GOOD because we didn't think that Titan was sexist.
The reactionaries are just plain wrong about gaming's future
By Colin Campbell on Sep 19, 2014
This is a desperate attempt to discredit Christina Hoff Summers because it BLOWS COLIN'S MIND that a woman can see through this #GamerGate horseshit. Colin's doing all this for her! How dare she not appreciate! Better take a still from a video and make her look foolish. (This is the kind of thing Deadspin does.
'Are Video Games Sexist' rebuttal song makes the world better
By Danielle Riendeau on Sep 19, 2014
Better gang up on Ms. Summers! Some cylinder-faced dipshit went into auto-tune and get this, gang! He remixed what someone said and auto-tuned it. Ha! Ha ha ha! This amazing use of comedy, which peaked back in 2009, definitely deserves to make one of the front pages of that site everyone used to go to until it became pretty obvious it was garbage. OK, one more.
How to keep your child from becoming a victim, or a monster, online
By Nicole Tompkins-Hughes on Sep 16, 2014
Jesus Christ, does this shitty site post any articles about games? Their OPINION section for a medium where there can be no right or wrong, where the experience of a particular product can vary due to no two consumers having the exact same hardware configuration is almost completely lacking in opinions about actual games. T-- oh. They said the world doesn't need another Final Fantasy 7. Sorry, everybody, it's a games site.
