The Darkness, Prey, and Wolfenst-oh-nine all treated their female character and (I'm guessing mostly male) players abysmally. Dead Space was the gorehound equivalent of being sat down by papa EA and forced to smoke an entire carton of cigarettes, while he alternates between boring you to death and crashing symbols in your face (I got the achievement for amputating 1000 limbs before the one for beating the sixth level... out of twelve levels). I think those might've been the last few M-rated titles I played. For obvious reasons.
I'm definitely going to try Wolfenstein-from-the-makers-of-The-Darkness because it looks like the most interesting new shooter since Vanquish, but I want a physical copy, and I don't want to pay more than $20 Canadian for it. Pathetic as it sounds, quality, pricing, and preservation are the issues I genuinely care about. |
