A reporter for one of the local channels here - 4 or 5, I can't remember which - told how he met Robin Williams at a party or a media event, where some other major star was there but wasn't interested in talking, and he noticed Williams, alone in a corner with a drink. So the reporter and his wife go over to talk to him and they discuss his performance in some movie, and just for the three of them, no other audience, he goes into doing parts of the movie including the different voices.
Leslie Stahl once interviewed him about his substance abuse problems, and he admitted it was a struggle, especially with alcohol. As Williams said, "That's the big problem with alcohol is that it can turn you into a completely different person, like Dr. Jeckyl and Jack Daniels."
He was a great actor, both dramatically and comedically, and he will be missed.
