In episode 4 out of 5, the main character finally figures out what the player did five minutes into the first episode.

Head out to a crappy apartment or crappy store via arbitrary choice to artificially extend replay value. Nothing you click on at the scene matters. Try to talk to hostile witness. Get into fight with hostile witness. Witness relents and tells little. Repeat until episode cliffhanger which will be revealed as meaningless at the start of the next episode.

No puzzles. None of the choices matter. None of the dialog responses matter. The story just ends as a commercial for the comic. A loan shark was extorting people. You beat up his goons and arrest him. The end.

The problem with Telltale is they're making they keep cutting out the "game" part of their adventure games until they're just animated comics. It's a problem because they're terrible writers. The dialog is all first draft mush, the blandest most straightforward responses before a better writer polished them into something more clever with more subtext in the fourth or fifth draft.

I wouldn't even say it's worth your time to watch a playthrough on youtube for free.
