This makes his eyewitness report as to the same facts to be a valid source of evidence for the particular claim I am making. Just consider the entire story of Jesus in the Bible has less credibility, since all of the stories about him were written by people at least 75 years after he died; all of the reports are third-hand, none is eyewitness testimony. Yet people give that story a great deal of credence. If you're going to argue he's not a valid source, you have to provide evidence to support your claim of invalidity, explaining what reasons - other than that you don't want to admit I was right all along - to support your claim.
