And you have this in writing? Comcast has had the nasty habit of saying data plans were "unlimited" but that did not mean you could use all of your bandwidth, they used to cut people off or throttle services like BitTorrent, then when Comcast claimed they didn't do this, and the Associated Press caught them lying, they had to announce data caps were 250GB/month.
However, Comcast did change their rules, but it wasn't widely publicized. "On May 17, 2012, we [Comcast] announced the suspension of the enforcement of our 250 GB usage allowance and that we would trial and launch new data usage plans."
The reason for this was probably Google offering gigabit Internet in K.C. for $80 a month, and probably working on even more locations in the future. You can't very well sell 50MBPS at $59.95 a month when 20 times as much is only 40% more. Or less if you don't think you need that much bandwidth.
