I think being a standard open world game is what killed it for me. by Worm 06/10/2014, 10:34am PDT
I feel like it could have been a lot more, and that undertone of mediocrity combined with an awful protagonist and awful story ruined it for me. It's really funny because I LIKE idiots, I am an IDIOT. I loved Alex Mercer, I loved how they handled him! There is a game that should have had a "morality meter" as a joke. It would be so amazing to see the insane lengths you'd have to go through to not kill civilians. Imagine stopping a purse snatcher by absorbing his being into your mass and contritely returning in his form to the victim. Alternatively Watch_Dogs doesn't need any morality meter.

Aiden Pearce on the other hand is a 39 year old man making "Can I haz a cheezeburger" jokes. The game establishes him as nothing more than a petty criminal(fixer) who got his niece killed because they stole from the wrong person. Some cutscenes are great and others are dog shit. The first scene for Lucky Quinn was great but, meeting alt-whore hacker was horrible and just served to illustrate that Aiden is some expert on human psychology. For each part that got me interested in the game another part irritated me. Iraq's voice logs were really cool and interesting and then you see him and oh he's just another insane thug who murders people for no reason.

The final product just pisses me off I guess. I feel like we deserve better than this.
