$100 for an ALPHA!?!?!?!! You're PAYING THEM TO FIX THEIR GAME!!!!! RABBLE RABBLE SELF-RIGHTEOUS INDIGNANT RABBLE RABBLE!!!!! ALSO I CAN'T READ!!?!??!?
I realize this is pointless, since Caltrops has a long-standing, full-on, pulsating, vibrating hard-on for Brad and anything GC, but here, just for anyone who actually wants to understand what this is about:
You are NOT PAYING $100 for the Alpha. I can prove this. Know how? I paid $100 for GalCiv 3 on October 15, 2013 and I didn't get SQUAT. Not an ALPHA, not a fucking WALLPAPER, not a pinch on the ass from Brad, not nothin'.
The $100 has always been for:
- Preordering GC3 and all of its DLC/expansions at what most likely will be a substantial discount over buying them when they come out.
- A few extra goodies for your faith.
One of those few extra goodies is: Hey, you get the alpha build! Which isn't fun, isn't complete, isn't a good game, and was never supposed to be, if you'd read anything about it. But hey, it's just an extra goodie, for those who want to see how the game's developing, want to supply feedback, want to help make the game better in its early days. But that is NOT what you're paying them $100 for.
You're just preordering all possible GC3 content, at a discount.
So if you have faith that you will like the game, and that they will deliver the amount of DLC/expansions they are planning, it is YOU, SIR, who are a rube for not buying it now. If you don't have that faith, or you don't like the game (which you don't), then it makes no sense to buy it now OR later.
I did, because I've bought everything GC-related that's ever existed, and loved all of it.
