The save system is fine. Since the gameplay is very balanced, I haven't had to redo stuff much from checkpoints. It's all good.
The initial load time and multiple logging into shit online is pretty terrible, but once you're in, it's all good. Only had one lockup so far, and all I had to do was alt-tab out then go back in and the game continued.
Graphics are strangely underwhelming, but fine really. Just a little disappointing coming from Just Cause 2, which is the best looking sandbox game I've played.
The gameplay (and story) is a little strange at first, but it turns out to be a big improvement over FC2. The sandbox environment feels more inhabitet and alive, the camp capturing system is much more satisfying than FC2's instantly respawning enemy checkpoints. The (ridiculous, but fun) story also progresses much faster than FC2, if you want it to.
The need to hunt animals to upgrade your shit seems stupid at first, but it works out great.
Even though I loved FC2, I didn't play this at first because it sounded pretty fucking weird. And it is. But that's good! Definitely recommended. |
