If someone screened American Hustle, where 70s dirtbags look like some of the most attractive people on the planet, I feel it would bring the Desktop Dungeons company to their knees.
I caught this post because Grebble posted it to the ass-end of the Internet. Nobody squeaking about this non-problem on their tumblrs, or Twitter pages is going to say, "Wow, all our whining paid off. People are listening! Let's get the SJW army together and all buy Desktop Dungeons!" Nobody is going to say that because the entire movement is inherently directed towards one's own navel.
They made no money from this, they just made a game with a bunch of repulsive avatars. Not so gruesome that there's a house style, but just boring enough to fail to capture anyone's attention. If I want to look at a bunch of average-looking people, I'll go to work or stare at a mirror. Videogames offer the possibility of a freak show circus of mangled faces or a bunch of go go hot people. Way to pick the option that tastes like oatmeal on a log you found in the woods.
