Just because I like the mental image of Fabio shaking a meaty fist at his monitor.
Gunroar is in my opinion the prettiest of Kenta Cho's freeware shooting games (It's more like robotron than a shmup) but unfortunately its scoring system was borked, rewarding the player for just ignoring enemies and forcing the screen to scroll past them.
I just today discovered this fan-made fork which fixes the scoring system so your multiplier is based on fast and consistent kills. It's fucking INTENSE.
Next time you see some ugly-ass indie game claim to be "retro" because nobody on the team can draw, boot up gunroar's stained-glass visuals and see how BEAUTIFUL programmer art can be with just a modicum of creativity.
Remember to add the tag "-luminous 100" to the shortcut.
