You were born outside the Vault. You never met your mother. Your father was a geneticist, to whom everyone seems to think you bear an uncanny resemblance. In the end, spoiler warning, you have to choose whether or not to sacrifice yourself to complete his life's work, because... you're the only one who can enter a keycode on a keypad? What? It's almost as if, somewhere along the line, someone realized that their game was already so indebted to the 2005 Michael Bay film The Island - in terms of both plot points and visual design - that having the protagonist also be a clone would've been a bridge too far. But instead of replacing the clone angle with something else, they just chopped off the ending and left all the story hooks dangling. |
