It's somewhat effective, middling success. by fucking newbie 10/31/2013, 9:56am PDT There's shit you could do like creating a searchable index of tagged content or an alphabetized list of games and another one of relevant topics or just good shit, but ultimately that'd be pretty hard on the editorial staff because of there being so much shit to go through. A system where users submitted content to an editorial staff, however, might make this load manageable. They don't even need to be the original authors, since it's not always the writer of a given screed that decides it's front page worthy as it is; the submissions of a few dozen users or the fucking army of lurkers could be used to drive a process that resulted in a relatively sane heap of shit on the editor's desk to sort through and curate. I mean it's that or basically the data just isn't searchable in any sane way. Which is serviceable enough now but I still feel like even though this place's value is in the posters a lot of what's been posted isn't something that people want to revisit. If I have what might be a glimmer of insight into the games as art discussion or something I fully expect nobody here would give enough of a fuck to even shoot it down or tell me it's been done a million times already only my attempts to discern that with fuckin' google didn't bear fruit because the concept wasn't parsed the same way. But it's not like some slashdot or reddit system of upvoting content is going to give anyone here a blood rush in the pants, and rightly so.
