Probably the best mass melee combat since The Two Towers. I'm actually liking it more than Dark Souls if only for the fact that I don't have to fuck around with target locking.
I only wish they threw MORE masses of enemies at you. 3 hours into what I'm assuming is an under 20 hour game and I've only run into one room full of so many bad guys that I had to actually act like Batman taking them out. They should have embraced the whole game being a linear path of those large open enemy takedown rooms, and I guess technically it is but it's too busy trying to pretend that it's open world Metroid which it isn't.
Has the same problem Dishonored did where there's no reason to ever not be in x-ray vision mode. Both games have these gorgeous environments but your best option is to play it looking like Tron with skeletons.
I never would have figured out the "look for a partial question mark to line up with a dot" riddles. Wish it would tell you about only the nearby Riddler challenges you can currently reach.
The story is almost a constant parody of Batman's ridiculous no kill code. Just a never ending parade of dead prison guard bodies and Batman leaving a wake of unconscious criminals, with the action broken up by talking to guards crying over dead comrades and their families. |
