'Cause you're constantly having the old characters die after trying and maybe succeeding at some life-goal, including siblings, spouses, foundlings placed at your current dynasty head's court for loyalty's sake, various servants, allies, enemies, friends, et cetera.

Not like it has a dedicated story other than the historical one, but it's the closest thing I could think of. Not that anyone here aside from Pinback has ever wanted to play it.
