There are no characters or conversations in Crackdown, only uninterrupted gameplay. You're never lonely or confused, though, because Pseudo-Stack is always in your earpiece, reading out mission briefings, commenting on your activities, and offering helpful protips. Think Mercenaries as narrated by the guy from Bastion and you're halfway there. In retrospect, Crackdown was a trailblazer for the kind of emergent, next-level play experience that lead to one of gaming's most awesome evolutionary dead ends, like whatever they called that one dinosaur that could breathe fire. |
