The one with the guitar hippy fighting enemy robots by singing to them? It makes Gundam Wing look like a positively straight mech show by comparison.

One new series that really did stand out is Witch Hunter Robin. Despite a rocky beginning, WHR is an absorbing and nuanced show that features probably the only teenager in anime who actually acts like a teenager. It's also probably the only anime I've ever seen that successfully develops and sustains genuine sexual tension. Witchy X-files-esque subject material.


Yeah, what a typical puritan magic casting witch teenager. Usually it's teenage boys that like setting fires.

Somebody dies in a mysterious way. Hunters investigate and find out a witch is responsible. Ambush them in an abandoned building. Hunters don't do so good with their wildly inaccurate paintball guns (based on whether or not that episode's script decides if the witch's power will work against their necklaces) until Robin goes overboard setting stuff on fire, giving them the opportunity to cover the witch in paralyzing giz. Couple of cryptic lines at the mysterious agency blah blah blah see you next week.

Nothing's hotter than sexual tension between an underaged girl and a man twice her age.

And frankly, I'm sorry, I like Sailor Moon.

I do not like harem shows. Harem shows are where the totally ordinary dude is suddenly forced to live amongst 20 or so beeyootiful women who all surprise surprise want him. They're like porn without the actual cocks and frotteurage and whatnot; in general I think they're skippable.


Why waste your time with harem shows? You could be brushing up on all 200 Sailor Moon episodes.
