This is one of those "running" timing games. You play the ghost of the Nameless King as he runs at a fixed velocity left to right, get pestered along the way by an army of mutant cultists, and persuade these mutant cultists to step aside with your gigantic sword. Controls are the 4 arrow keys, corresponding to 3 types of swings and a parry, and the space key to activate your sword's special attack. You can also control with gesture clicks on the mouse if you're masochistic.
The pulp fantasy/80s metal album art style is great and there's a real visceral sense of satisfaction when you slice through a mutant cultist's sword and send their body ragdolling into the next guy. The music does not match the quality of the visuals, unfortunately. Best to turn it off and play some speed metal of your own.
You get a 4 chapter campaign, a score-based endless mode, a distance-based chaos mode (where more than one enemy are thrown at you at once) and 2 2P verses slayer mode that can be played 2 to a keyboard. You can also use XP to unlock up to 9 different swords split into 3 weight categories.
If you're looking for something more visually engaging than Freecell for a coffeebreak game, God of Blades certainly fits the bill.
