| ... because Patch Adams never stole supplies from a hospital, he didn't have a girlfriend who was killed by a mental patient, his stay at a mental hospital was when he was a teenager, not middle-aged, he didn't enter medical school late in life (he graduated when he was 26). The whole "college movie" subplot with the Dean going "well I never!" and kicking him out of med school never happened.
Patch himself has gone on record as saying "I hate that movie." Rogert Ebert said that the movie "made [him] want to spray the screen with Lysol. This movie is shameless. It's not merely a tearjerker. It extracts tears individually by liposuction, without anesthesia." Anyway, this is Caltrops... everyone here is "cold-hearted and overly angry." Doesn't change the facts that clowns are creepy, the movie sucked, and Robin Williams is a turd. GG. |
