Starting out as a fan-tribute to the Rayforce series of games, the Alltynex trilogy is one of the best series of shooting games to ever come out of Japan's indie scene. The only indies that outdo Alltynex in quality are Crimzon Clover and Hellsinker. Spaceships exploding shit everywhere, huge bosses you take apart piece by piece, obscenely overpowered ships ordinance, yet with a life system that's more forgiving than a straight up arcade shmup and bullet swarms that never reach bullet-hell levels. Try the demos, you cowardly faggots! (Actually I am a little worried about playing these games translated. The anime stories underlying these games have got to be terrible.)
