I don't need a quicksave for Gears of War or Call of Duty. Though in a game with exploration like Deus Ex:HR(which has it) or Farycry 3(at least I'd hope it has exploration), it's just a really convenient thing. Do I want to jump off this cliff or not, do I want to shoot this cop or not, do I want to swim to the bottom of this lake or not. Ideally in a free roaming game they shouldn't be able to make proper checkpoints for you ever, since you ought to be doing some free roaming.
They can limit the saves during combat or whatever but I don't think having a check point before I hack this terminal or try to make this jump is that ridiculous. Especially when I'm apparently just respawning right outside the camp? |
